| Cat-like Cry ‘cri-du-chat’ Syndrome Cat-like cry ‘cri-du-chat’ syndrome
The cat-like cry ‘cri-du-chat’ syndrome is characteristic. This occurs in defective microcephalic infants. There is often some degree of hypertelorism, an antimongoloid slant of the eyes and low-set ears. It is associated with deletion of the distal portion of the short arm of one of the 4 to 5 chromosomes.
